The game has quite the assortments of skills that make a character and change your stats. First is Vigor which determines your overall health. Then there attunement which determines your charge that you use to use abilities to use spells. Endurance is your energy which determines your ability to roll, run, and block attacks. Vitality is used to wear armor and bear weapons. Since each have a weight. Your Strength determines how hard you hit on strength based weapons. Dexterity is strength but for dex based weapons. Intelligence is used to cast spells and its used to determine damage. Faith is used to cast miracles. And Luck is used to get item drops. Its terrible.
Now there are hundreds of items in-game. Each has a purpose and role. So, many weapons, armor, buffs, and currencies and more. Its super fun to build a class and use items. Now PVE is a large part of DS3 monsters and bosses each with lore and pieces to the universe. Fighting them with your build and your many hours of experience.
The game is renowned for being difficult. Its generally hard mechanics and your enemies being stronger than you in general. This masterpiece had multiple installments before it. But those are mostly irrelevant for now. The game seems to have simple enough mechanics, yet those mechanics are incredibly complicated at the same time.
PVP is a large part of the DS community in its entirety. The game allows you to work with other people or to fight them. Of course your gear and stats will make a large difference but fighting any fight depends on skill. Now I know what your thinking. I play video games to avoid doing this one thing. Yet the only way you'll enjoy your experience is to git gud. I'll rate this game a solid 10/10.
